NEMSIS v3.3.4 Build 140328 Released
- this is the Annual Minor Revision Release -

The Version 3.3.4 dataset has been released and replaced with Build 140328. This revision to the NEMSIS Version 3 standard is in accordance with the NEMSIS TAC Revision Policy. Please reference the v3.3.4 Build 140328 Change Log for specifics.

To maintain backwards compatibility and allow for EMS product development this was a Minor Revision to the v3 Standard. Changes focused on:

1. Element Value Additions or Changes
2. Element Definition Updates
3. Element Comment Additions, Updates, or Removals

The NEMSIS TAC has established a policy for further releases to the Version 3 dataset. Please access the policy here.


The next comment period with revision requests is now open. Enter your recommended revision to the v3 standard on the NEMSIS V3 Forum.

A NEMSIS Account is required to make revision requests, comment on other requests, and view the forum.
If you don't have an account, request one from Jorge.

Requests and recommendations for changes to the v3 Standard may also be submitted to NEMSIS staff by July 31st of each year. Changes to the dataset will be made only after careful consideration and EMS Stakeholder involvement.

NEMSIS Website Update

Support Page Updated: New pages have been developed to separate State information and plans related to Version 2 and Version 3. A NEMSIS TAC page with a NEMSIS Version 3 National Library for custom elements and schematron rules is under development.

NEMSIS 2013 Annual Meeting
"Progression of the V3 Data Standard"
October 24-25, 2013

Meeting Update

The purpose of the NEMSIS V3 Progression meeting was to answer questions regarding NEMSIS V3 products, review NEMSIS V3 compliance testing, introduce a V2 to V3 mapping solution, vet minor revisions for the March 2014 V3.x release, introduce an XML-based markup standard for encoding clinical data for exchange (HL7-CDA), discuss  ideas regarding integration of national and local EMS data reporting, and review the future of the NEMSIS V3 Standard.

NEMSIS V3 Implementation Conference Calls

The NEMSIS TAC will hold NEMSIS Version 3 Software Developer's Implementation Conference Calls on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 11:00 to 12:30 Eastern Time (9:00-10:30 Mountain Time). Notifications of the agenda, phone line, and webinar link are sent out prior to the call.

Information for the conference call is posted on the NEMSIS TAC Google Group the Friday before the call.
