NEMSIS V3 Implementation Tools

State V3 Implementation Timeline


Information regarding the state transition to and implementation of the v3 Data Standard was last updated on September 29, 2015.
  1. Planned closure date for receiving Version 2.2.1 data: December 31, 2016
  2. Went "Live" with Version 3.3.4: October 1, 2015
  3. Planned date for all EMS agencies to move to Version 3: December 31, 2016
  4. NEMSIS Version being used in Wisconsin: v3.3.4
  5. Additional Information on the transition timeline:
    Planned date "Live v3.4.0 system" for web entry environment: Ocrober 1, 2015.
    Planned date "Live v3.4.0 system" will accept 3rd party XML files: November 1, 2015.

    September 2015: Training for direct entry system users and service leaders begins. Service leaders may start setting up service demographics and other settings for their service for the transition.

    November 2015: Custom values and elements list available to 3rd party vendors.
    November 2015: State Data Dictionary, Schematron, and Business Rules Available for 3rd Party Vendors.
    November 2015: Opening for 3rd party software vendors to apply for state compliance testing and approval. 3rd party software vendor imports into the state system for services will not be turned on unless their software has met state compliance testing.

    March, 2016: Soft Date - EMS Agencies using WARDS directly (web entry). Individual users may not transition. Transition must occur at the service level and all users for a service must use the v3 system once transitioned.

    December 31, 2016: Hard Date - All EMS Agencies using WARDS directly (web entry) must transition by this date.
